Reading Notes: Native American Hero Tales, Reading B

Story source: Tales of the North American Indians by Stith Thompson (1929)

Lodge-Boy and Thrown-Away (Crow)
- Pretty macabre plot points, almost feels like a horror story
- Direct storytelling, no extra words or descriptions
- I don't understand who "lodge-boy" is supposed to be, bc the first boy is "thrown-behind-a-curtain"
- In part 2, the boys keep doing things against the dad's wishes
- A Thunder-Bird talks to them and lifts them into the air (like in The Jealous Uncle)
- Story Idea: Tell from the dad's side in a diary-entry style
