Feedback Strategies

Marchall Goldsmith's article "Try Feedforward instead of Feedback" discusses how giving suggestions or critiquing one's performance should be done by giving ideas for the future, instead of focusing on the past. I think this makes a lot of sense and both parties can benefit by shifting their thought process to reflect upcoming behavior. It allows for more growth and can be more productive. The article "Be a Mirror" by Gravity Goldberg mentions the idea of growth mindset, a subject we often talk about in this class. The author advises people to give feedback that promotes this growth mindset by "reflecting what is there without judgment." They say that being specific and taking yourself out of the feedback can be more helpful when reviewing someone's work.

These are all great strategies that I plan on utilizing when reading my fellow classmates work, and it will also be helpful to keep these tips in mind whenever I receive feedback.
